Our Club History

Est. 1892

The Mirboo North Football Netball Club has a proud history of competitiveness and camaraderie.

From its early days in the Morwell District Football Association (competing against Morwell, Traralgon, Coalville and Yinnar), to its more recent history as one of the fiercest teams in the Mid Gippsland Football Netball League, the Tigers’ fighting spirit is a force to be reckoned with.

    • Morwell – Mirboo North railway opened.

    • MNFNC established and played in Morwell District Football Association.

    • Clubs: Morwell, Traralgon, Coalville, Yinnar and Mirboo North.

    • First game: Mirboo North v Yinnar (match drawn).

    • VFL formed: Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Fitzroy, South Melbourne, Melbourne, Geelong and St Kilda

    • Mirboo – Boolarra Football Association

    • Clubs: Boolarra, Yinnar (Seconds), Hazelwood and Mirboo North

    • Allambee Hills Football Association

    • Clubs: Mirboo North, Allambee and Mt Eccles

    • Four games and Allambee premiers with three wins.
